The influence of a river

The River Anoia, the Turó del Serral, the Raventós i Blanc Lake and the woods on our estate have created unique soil and climate conditions

Aspects that form part of the characteristics of the Anoia River Basin, a name that evokes a small, specific part of the world of about 7,000 hectares between the Montserrat Massif and the Coastal and Pre-Coastal Ranges - where all our wines are born.

More than twenty generations of accumulated experience cultivating the same land means we have an exhaustive and detailed knowledge of each of our vineyards

The estate is divided up into a total of 44 plots, and each one has its own personality.

Clos del Serral

This plot, situated on the north side of the Serral between the forest and the lake, at a height of 170-185 m, has a cold, damp mesoclimate, which greatly favours slow ripening and maintains high acidity. The shallow soils are calcareous with a sandy, silty texture of marine origin dating back to the Miocene, and have a high fossil content, which produces mineral, marine wines. The oldest Xarel·lo vines on the estate are found on the Clos del Serral.

La vinya més alta

Situated on the highest plot of the Serral hill (at a height of 199-205 m), the soil is calcareous with a silty, sandy texture containing a high percentage of sedimentary stones from the Pliocene on original marine subsoil from the Miocene. The high stone content means that it drains water well. It is the plot with the warmest mesoclimate on the estate, where we have planted Xarel·lo and Sumoll grapes to produce Textures de Pedra wine.

Costers del Serral | Vinya dels Fòssils

Vines located on the southern/south-eastern slope of the Serral hill (at a height of 163-197 m), with calcareous soil of marine origin from the Miocene, with a high fossil content that produces high minerality and salinity levels. Here we have soils with different textures, with a hot and dry mesoclimate, where we have planted Macabeu, Xarel·lo and Parellada grapes for the Finca coupage and Bastard Negre for Textures de Pedra.

Les Barberes | Oliveres

Located on the lowest part of the southern slope of the Serral hill (at a height of 157-179 m), facing south, the soils are deep with a clay, silty texture. They are calcareous and of sedimentary origin from the River Anoia and on subsoil of marine origin from the Miocene Epoch. They are soils that retain a lot of water. The Macabeu, Xarel·lo and Parellada grapes are grown here and are used to make the Blanc de Blancs and De Nit sparkling wines.

El llac

Here the vines grow on the edges of the lake (at a height of 140-156 m). The soils are deep, calcareous and sedimentary with a clay loamy texture from the River Anoia on subsoils of marine origin from the Miocene Epoch. The mesoclimate is cold and damp, influenced by the lake, which gives the Xarel·lo vines that were planted using the gobelet system over 40 years ago very unique features. The grapes grown on this plot are used to produce the Blanc de Blancs sparkling wine.

La Plana

Here we find the lowest vines on the estate (at a height of 135-151 m), facing north, with no slope, and with deep calcareous, clay loam sedimentary soils from the River Anoia on subsoils of marine origin from the Miocene Epoch. The mesoclimate is cold and Macabeu and Xarel·lo grapes are grown here to produce Blanc de Blancs and De Nit sparkling wines.

Travesseres | Gran

Situated on the lowest part of the northern slope of the Serral hill (at a height of 153-167 m) with shallow, calcareous soils of sedimentary origin from the River Anoia on subsoils of marine origin from the Miocene Epoch where we find soils with different textures. The mesoclimate is cold and we have planted Xarel·lo grapes here using the gobelet system to produce Blanc de Blancs and De Nit sparkling wines.
